This local segment of the trail, devoted to the Battle of Trutnov of 27 June 1866, is a part of a long-distance cycling route leading from the Polish border area via Trutnov to the town of Dvůr Králové nad Labem and then as far as the battle field of the decisive battle of the whole Prussian-Austrian War – Chlum u Hradce Králové. The local part runs from Krakonošovo Square via Šibeník Hill with the General Gablenz Memorial as far as the Chapel of St John the Baptist, and is almost three kilometres long. This part of the trail is connected with an eleven-kilometre long cycling tourist trail, which runs through the other places of significant battles and opens up some of the less known monuments located near the north-western part of Starý (Old) Rokytník and Bojiště (Battle Field). Thus the cycling route starts and finishes near the General Gablenz Memorial. In Starý Rokytník, the circle is connected with a long-distance route leading around the moments commemorating the second day of the Battle, i.e. 28 June 1866, through Studenec, Střítež, Staré Buky, Pilníkov, Vlčice, Kocbeře and Choustníkovo Hradiště.
